On 1st April 2026, I had the pleasure of capturing a truly relaxed wedding at Hornington Manor, one of Yorkshire’s most picturesque countryside wedding venues. With an outdoor ceremony, beautiful spring sunshine, garden games and thoughtful South African touches throughout the day, it was the perfect celebration from start to finish.

One of the highlights of the day was the couple’s outdoor ceremony. Surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, family and friends watched as they exchanged their vows in the fresh spring air. Outdoor ceremonies at Hornington Manor create such a relaxed atmosphere and provide the perfect backdrop for natural, documentary-style wedding photography.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks on the lawn while playing garden games and catching up with friends and family. These moments are exactly why I love documentary wedding photography—capturing genuine laughter, real emotions and all the little interactions that make every wedding unique.

One of my favourite parts of the day was seeing the couple incorporate their South African heritage into the celebrations. Guests enjoyed delicious boerewors rolls alongside traditional potjiekos, freshly prepared by Bella Hog. These personal touches made the day feel even more meaningful and gave everyone something memorable to experience.
